It’s a national distinction that’s bestowed on a single scholar who excels in scholarship, undergraduate teaching, and leadership in the cause of liberal arts education. The winner of the award is selected at the Society’s Triennial Council Meeting. The call for nominations will be made in the Key Reporter and General Newsletter, a year and a half before the Triennial Council meeting.
The Philip Sidney Ardern Memorial Prize is an annual award that’s given in memory of a professor who taught English literature at Auckland University College. The prize was donated by Miss A.M. Ardern and augmented by subscriptions from friends and colleagues. The prize is awarded to the author of a dissertation-based article in the field of Consumer Culture Theory (CCT). The article should be published during the preceding year. The competition is open to all postgraduate and undergraduate students. The winner will be announced at the CCT conference luncheon.
